Abstract
Objective To study diagnostic methods,treatment and result of synovial chondromatosis under arthroscopy.Methods Fifty-four patients(59 joints),with synovial chondromatosis of 53 knee joints,6 hip joints.Age of 16-65 years,42.5 years on average.Arthroscopic synovectomy and removal of loose bodies were done in all patients,and treated the other diseases.Results Forty-nine of these paients(55 joints)were followed up for an average of 35.6 months.The preoperative main symptoms all disappeared with no other complicating disease,only two patients(3.6%)recurred Conclusions The present results showed arthroscopic removal of cartilaginous bodies with synovectomy are the good selection of treatment for synovial chondromatosis of the joints,with microinvasion and quick rehabilitation.
