Abstract

Hemorrhoid, also known as piles is a dilatation and inflammation of the veins in the anal region originating from the hemorrhoidal plexus. Hemorrhoid is a severe disease than can interfere with daily activities and causing a degradation of a person's quality life. Hemorrhoids is divided into internal and external hemorrhoids. Factors that can cause hemorrhoids are low fiber diet, constipation, pushing for too long, pregnancy, and obesity. A thorough history, physical examination, and further evaluations are needed in order to establish the diagnosis of hemorrhoids. The management of hemorrhoids depends on the severity of the disease that consist of medical and operative management.
