Abstract

Using chemical herbicides to replace artificial and mechanical weeding in the field is a widely used technology worldwide. It represents low-cost prevention and control, saves working hours, reduces labor intensity, and can effectively prevent weeds in a timely manner, thus ensuring normal growth of sugarcane plants for high yield (Su and Song 1996). Improper use of chemical herbicides can cause phytotoxicity, which leads to abnormal sugarcane normal growth and yield reductions. The correct use of herbicides, based on the weed species and scientific spraying according to the soil moisture content, can be effective to control weeds in sugarcane fields. This chapter uses clear color photos and scientific, accurate text to describe systematically the main weeds of sugarcane fields and their distribution, growth and decline law in the field, and chemical weed control measure.
