Abstract
The new genus Diadema is described for six species of alpine pyrenomycetes from the Himalayas and western North America: Diadema acuta on Poa from California and on Trisetum from Kashmir, Diadema cincta on Carex from Punjab, Diadema curta on Biebersteinia (Gentianaceae) from Kashmir, Diadema hexamera on Poa from California, Diadema obtusa on Potentilla and Trisetum from Kashmir, and Diadema tetramera on various grasses and Juncus from California.
