Abstract

The compounds (CO) 6Fe 2Se 2{ μ- HC C( C CR)} (R=Me ( 1) or n-Bu ( 2) and {(CO) 6Fe 2Se 2} 2{ μ-HCC(CCR)} (RMe ( 3) or n-Bu ( 4)) have been obtained by room-temperature reactions of Fe 2(CO) 6(μ-Se 2) with HCCCCR. Compound 1 Os 3(CO) 10(NCMe) 2 to give (CO) 6Fe 2Se 2( μ-HCCCCCH 3OS 3(CO) 10 ( 5). The structure of compounds 1, 3 and 5 have been established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies.
