Abstract

Around half of all people with diabetes develop lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). The person with diabetes can develop an underactive or an overactive bladder ( Arrellano-Valdez et al, 2014 ). This article explains how diabetes affects bladder function, ways to minimise the risk of bladder dysfunction and available treatments.
