Abstract

Two patients are reported who presented with bilateral foot-drop. This proved to be due to lesions of the lateral popliteal nerves associated with diabetes mellitus. The neuropathy is attributed to undue sensitivity of the nerves to trauma in patients with a neuropathic condition. With treatment of the diabetes the lateral-popliteal-nerve lesions improved substantially.
