Abstract
The title compound, [Cu2Cl2(C8H14O2)2], exhibits a non-planar four-membered Cu2Cl2 ring, with one alkyne ligand coordinated to each Cu atom. Due to the presence of the Cl bridges as potential hydrogen-bond acceptor sites, one of the hydroxy substituents is engaged in an intramolecular hydrogen bond, whereas the remaining three OH groups form intermolecular interactions which sustain the supramolecular structure.
