Abstract
Cp 2TaH 3 reacts with the esters RO 2CCCO 2R (R = Me, SiMe 3) at room temperature to give the fumaric ester complexes Cp 2TaH( trans-RO 2CCHCHCO 2R). With simple acetylenes RCCR (R = Me, SiMe 3 Ph), acetylen hydrides Cp 2TaH-(RCCR) are formed. In the cae of tolane (R = Ph), the presence of a trans-stilbene intermediate has been revealed by NMR spectroscopy monitoring of the reaction
