Abstract

This work deals with the solution of compressible inviscid and viscous flows. The discontinuous Galerkin method (DG) is used for space semidiscretization of the compressible Navier‐Stokes equations. We use semi‐implicit linearized time discretization to obtain a numerical scheme with good stability properties. The method is applied to the solution of compressible flows with a wide range of Mach numbers ranging from M = 2 to M = 10−4. When possible, we compare the approximate solution of low‐Mach compressible flows with the exact solution of incompressible flows.
