Abstract

Recently, optical fiber sensors for detecting physical quantities of temperatures and pressures have been widely studied. The optical fiber sensor can convert the variation of physical quantities to optical analog signals. When the optical signals are transmitted through optical fiber, the SNR decreases because of the attenuation and distortion of the signals in the optical fiber. This SNR problem can be solved by converting optical analog signals to light pulse signals.
