Abstract

The recent appearance of several articles showing more or less complex devices for collecting urine from baby boys prompts me to describe a simple and effective technique; this system was devised and used for 2 years at Travis Air Force Base Hospital and has been used on the infants' ward at the University of California Medical [See FIG. 1. in Source Pdf] Center for 1½ years. The components can be found in any hospital; the apparatus can be assembled and affixed in 10 minutes; it does not leak; no skin irritation has been noted, even with 4-day collection periods; and it can be washed, stored and re-used indefinitely.
