Abstract
This article describes a new lapping technology using a special device which reduces labor input to the minimum and improves the quality of the lapped surfaces. The device consists of a base, a support which rotates on bearings and permits mounting of the vent body by means of locating pins, a brake comprising a clamping shoe and eccentric, a drive shaft mounted in the machine spindle, an adjustable spring, and an eccentric sleeve for mounting and clamping the vent cover. The device ensures high-quality lapping, and easy and quick setting for machining vents of types KhP-80, KhP-150 and KhP-250. The annual savings from the new technology for lapping mating surfaces is about 10,000 rubles per year.
