Abstract

Deviations from Matthiessen's rule (DMR) have been studied in Au-vacancy, Au-Ag and Au-Ag-vacancy systems in terms of the scattering anisotropy of conduction electrons. It is suggested that DMR arises mainly from the difference in the scattering anisotropies between phonons and impurity atoms.
