Abstract

The deviations of the deformation of a piston and cylinder from the deformation as calculated from formulas in the solution of the Lame problem as well as the influence of the pressure distribution in the working channel of a piston pair on these deviations are considered. Conclusions regarding certain aspects of the design of high-pressure piston pairs are presented.
