Summary

Introduction

There is a constant trend of increasing rates of medical research and ensuing publications. The use of peer review is expected to improve the quality of the accepted manuscripts by providing a method for rational and objective editorial decisionmaking. The growing amounts of produced scientific data have raised the burden on the editorial boards of the conservative medical journals.
