Abstract

Recent research has introduced a variety of stochastic models for simulating hydrologic processes, particularly streamflow, in time and space. The small sample properties of the model processes, as well as those of the marginal distributions of the processes, have been approached by Monte Carlo techniques. Models for the transfer of hydrologic information have formed the basis of algorithms developed for optimal design of data collection systems.
