Abstract

The application of techniques such as the direct epifluorescent filter technique (DEFT), electrical impedance or conductance measurements, hydrophobic grid membrane filters (HGMFs), genetically engineered luminescent bacteria, DNA probes, polymerase chain reaction, monoclonal antibodies, and identification kits and systems, to the detection of foodborne microbial pathogens is described.
