Abstract
Developmental journalism covers the entire gamut of socio-economic and cultural events, and it does not differ drastically from regular news coverage. Rather, its emphasis is more on developmental aspects keeping in view the context of development; and it examines critically and reports the relevance, enactment and impact of developmental programmes. This paper analyzes the coverage of developmental news in four Indian newspapers over a period of one year. It concludes that the coverage of developmental news is neither significant nor encouraging in the sample dailies.
