Development Trends and Suggestions on Offshore Wind Power of China

Abstract

China has abundant offshore wind power resources, which are widely distributed in the economically developed eastern coastal areas. Under the background of carbon peak in 2030 and carbon neutralization in 2060, the process of energy transformation and promote carbon peak will accelerate with the help of large-scale development of offshore wind power in China. However, factors such as high investment, high maintenance cost and immature technology are the main obstacles which restrict the development of offshore wind power. This paper introduces the development status, trends and challenges of offshore wind power in China. It is an important means to promote the energy transformation of China which point out that the development of offshore wind power, and further analyses the necessity of offshore wind power development in China. Detailed analysis of the current development status and future trends. Finally, in the aspects of offshore wind power reconnaissance and resource re-evaluation, key core technology tackling, scientific and reasonable scale of development, improvement of supporting policies and subsidy mechanism, etc. The strategies and suggestions to promote the healthy and orderly development of offshore wind power industry in China are put forward.
