Abstract
This paper presents an introduction to the outcome of a survey on science popularization (hereinafter referred to as SP) performance in the minority area of China as well as the results of correlated fieldwork studies. On the basis of the analysis of the collected data and studied results, we summarized some profitable experience and methods of these typical areas, examined some correlated cases, brought to light the existing problems of SP in these areas and the affecting factors lie behind. To deal with these problems, we recommend our approaches and strategies for SP advancement in the minority area, which served as references for the government policy makers when making science and technology decisions and part of which has been adopted in a lately circulated governmental document.
