Abstract

Road accidents are due to lot of factors. They may occur due to human errors, road conditions and vehicle condition. This paper is about exploring about three parameters which are the major reasons of deaths. Those three parameters are loss of pressure in tyres, drowsiness of driver and detection of nearest vehicles. In order to avoid accidents related to these parameters, a system has been implemented which can minimize the accidents to maximum extent. This system contains three types of sensors which are useful for the detection of those three parameters. Flex sensor is used to calculate the amount of loss of pressure from the tyre, Eye blink sensor is used for the detection of drowsiness of the driver and Ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the nearer vehicles. This research study utilizes an Arduino UNO, which contains a microcontroller ATmega 328p to monitor all the three parameters such as pressure, drowsiness and nearer vehicles based on the outputs from the respective sensors and sends the output to the buzzer and liquid crystal display. The experimental results showed that the proposed vehicle safety control for the anticipation of accidents achieves better testing accuracy of 80%. Inshot the proposed method is an effective method for the prevention of accidents.
