Abstract

A time-resolved high-temperature X-ray powder diffraction apparatus has been developed using a position-sensitive proportional counter. X-ray diffraction in the range of Δ2θ≤40° can be simultaneously detected in less than 1 min. Orthorhombic-tetragonal phase transition in YBa2Cu3O7-x can be observed in situ moment by moment and investigated on an atomic scale using the developed diffraction apparatus.
