Abstract

Ti and its alloys are excessively utilized as biomaterials due to their superior corrosion resistance, good biocompatibility and suitable mechanical properties. Now, researchers are interested in preparing of β-Titanium alloys with low elastic modulus, which have biocompatible elements like Niobium, Tantalum, Zirconium, and Tin. Ti-29Nb-13Ta-4.6Zr is considered a famous β-Titanium alloy that were used in biomedical applications because it has a little Young's modulus (55 GPa) that is favorable and very close to the bone modulus. But, the low strength of these alloys impedes their using in load-bearing applications; so developing mechanical properties for these alloys must be studied, which can be done by adding alloying elements, surface modifications, heat treatments and optimizing fabricating techniques.
