Abstract

English. This study reports on the construction of the Russian Male Norms Inventory, which is intended to measure the endorsement of Russian male norms within Russian society. Using data obtained from personal interviews of Russian men and Russian literature, 69 items were constructed. Principal axis factoring with a sample of Russian men (n 432) suggested a three-factor solution that included 36 items. Extracted factors included Duty/Reliability, Privilege/Pleasure, and Inexpressive/Impassive. Internal reliability and indicators of convergent and divergent validity were strong, with correlations in expected directions. Implications, limitations, and recommendations for future research are discussed. P .
