Abstract

The socio-economic conditions prevailing in the domestic market today have become the driver of the development of a huge number of innovations within the framework of the "Internet of Things" concept. These innovations include the following: robot merchandisers,automated cash registers, smart trolleys and shelves, voice assistants, robot-assisted stores of retail chains, unmanned trucks, selfpropelled robots, cobots, etc. The article presents an overview of these technologies from the point of view of the effectiveness of their implementation in the activities of retailers; the attractiveness of these technologies for consumers of different generations; optimization of the trading process against the background of the pandemic and exit from it; compliance with the program of digitalization of the economy and trade being implemented today, etc. The technologies studied in this work are characterized by a huge potential and high prospects for their development, despite the high cost of their introduction into the activities of retail chains.
