Abstract

Imaginativeness is one of the peculiar features of child mentality. N. K. Krupskaya constantly urged teachers to utilize this feature for educational purposes. In organizing interesting and worthwhile games, the teacher develops the child's imagination and furthers his moral education. The pre-school child's imagination has a positive educational value because in the process of playing he develops a firm desire to imitate adults, to take on the role of good people, to act as they do. By giving careful thought to the subject of the game, by recreating in it real-life situations which children of that age can understand, the teacher molds their character step by step.
