Abstract

For the simultaneous estimation of metformin and pioglitazone from pharmaceutical dosage forms, a quick, selective, rapid, accurate, and cost-effective reverse phase HPLC method has been developed. The method was carried out on a phenomenex C18 (25 cm x 4.6 mm i.d., 5 µ) column with a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile: phosphate buffer (adjusted to pH 5.0 using orthophosphoric acid) (50:50 v/v) at a flow rate of 1. ml/min. The detection wavelength was 258 nm.As an internal control, etoricoxib was used. Paracetamol, aceclofenac, and etoricoxib had retention times of 4.75, 6.44, and 8.83 minutes, respectively. In terms of accuracy, precision, linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantitation and solution stability, the established method was validated. The suggested method can be used to calculate the dosage forms of these drugs in combination dosage forms. The current RP-HPLC system can be used to check the consistency of raw materials, formulations, and dissolution tests.
