Abstract
Water quality monitoring is essential for successful water resource management. The periodic analysis provides for the assessment of water and the identification of changes or trends in water quality over time. When it comes to monitoring water quality in isolated or dangerous areas, accessing these locations puts the people involved at risk. Furthermore, due to the set-ups and safety measures involved, manual monitoring by transporting and riding boats into these water bodies requires much time. The lack of real-time monitoring of water samples in these areas is also a significant matter. An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle with a real-time data transmission system for the water quality sensors attached was developed to overcome these challenges. This UAV and data transmission system allow researchers to monitor water quality from the safety of a shoreline or base station while also speeding up the procedure since the UAV can complete the necessary missions with minimal preparations.
