Abstract
The article discusses the key skills and competencies that should be possessed by thesuccessful manager of an educational institution. Based on the analysis of modern trends in the development of education, the need for the formation and development of pedagogical competence among the heads of schools, colleges, technical schools and other institutionsis is confirmed. Attention is also drawn to the importance of non-formal education in the preparation of leaders for the organization of effective work and fruitful interaction with all subjects of educational relations.
