Abstract

This paper presents a modified MW-Mile methodology using the power flow method. The power flow is computed by nature-inspired algorithm. In this paper, GBest Artificial Bee Colony algorithm (GBest ABC) is applied to reduce power loss of the system. Wheeling cost is computed for IEEE 5-bus, IEEE 30-bus and practical 37-bus test system based on power flow methodology. The reported results are analysed with the MW-Mile method, which demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed method which is useful to allocate transmission cost in a deregulated electric power system.
