Abstract

Planar microwave filters patterned from thin film HTS on low loss substrates can offer waveguide-like performance at a fraction of the component mass and volume. First results are presented for a microstrip filter at 6.2 GHz fabricated from YBCO thin films deposited onto both sides of an MgO substrate. The measured results are compared with identically patterned filters assembled from gold and YBCO single sided films.
