Abstract

Physics learning activities implemented in high school have not directed students to think critically and still tend to be teacher-centered. This results in students not being able to develop critical thinking skills to solve problems that involve reasoning in learning activities. The purpose of this study was to develop a product in the form of a physics module based on High Order Thinking Skills to improve critical thinking skills in student learning outcomes. The research and development method used is Research And Development (R&D). The research and development model uses a 4D Thiagarajan model with the research stages of defining, designing, developing, and distributing. The subjects in this study were students of class XI SMA. The technique of collecting research data is using a questionnaire and test questions Pre-Test-Post-Test. The results showed that the development of physics modules based on High Order Thinking Skills which was developed in class XI students increased by 71%, so that the development of physics modules had a significant effect on students’ critical thinking skills in the learning process on student learning outcomes.
