Abstract
The high-speed serial interlink technique becomes the mainstream of system bus development these years. This paper presents the design and implementation of a high-speed data transmission board, which is the connector of the PCI bus interface and the high-speed serial transceiver Rocket l/O. The basic background of the PCI bus and the main characteristics of Rocket l/O that is embedded in the Virtex-II Pro series FPGA are given. The critical implementation factors are that the data from the Rocket l/O should be transmitted to the host computer though the PCI Bus interface without losing. Emphasis is placed on presenting the scheme and the PCB design of the board, the logic design of the FPGA is given, too. Related to the overall implementation, the efficiency of the driver code generated by WinDriver is considered.
