Abstract

One of the significant factors that determinethe survival of an individual in trauma or surgery is the control of blood loss. Blood loss can be stopped using various hemostatic agents and among them oxidized cellulose plays a major role. The presence of carboxyl group plays a significant role in blood coagulation process. In the present work, ozone was used as oxidizing agent to prepare oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC) with varying process parameters.The developed sample exhibited desired hemostatic action.
