Abstract

In this study, MCM-41/CoWO4 nanocomposite has been used for electrochemical detection of dopamine neurotransmitters. The cobalt tungstate nanoparticles (CoWO4) were synthesized through facile hydrothermal method and MCM-41/CoWO4 nanocomposite was prepared by ultrasonication method. The as-synthesized MCM-41/CoWO4 nanocomposite was characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and Raman techniques. The electrochemical performance of the nanocomposite was examined using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and differential pulse voltammetry studies. The GCE/MCM-41/CoWO4 electrode exhibited a linear range, better sensitivity, and limit of detection (LOD) of 10–170 μM, 0.3361 μA μM−1 cm−2 and 7.2 nm, respectively. Moreover, the GCE/MCM-41/CoWO4 electrode demonstrated good repeatability, reproducibility, and stability. In addition to that, the real sample analysis was conducted using human urine with excellent recovery and RSD percentage.
