Abstract

Monilinia brown rot is the most economically important disease of stone (Prunus) and pome (Malus and Pyrus spp.) fruit. It affects both ripe fruit (brown rot) before and after harvest and also blossom and twigs (blight) early in the season. However, it can result in latent infections, symptoms only developing after fruit ripening.
