Abstract

Many advances have been made in the development of insulation materials and processes over the past 100 years. Here, the author describes how this has enabled corresponding improvements in performance calculations to be used with complete confidence so that machines can utilise the full thermal, mechanical and electrical capabilities of present-day insulation materials.
