Abstract
The authors discuss the prospects for solving the problems associated with movable support systems. Mining and geologic conditions and technical data show that a strong and light-weight design for a support system can be built that will meet all the requirements. The development of elastoplastic movable support systems of the KPP type, combined with level insulation and filling of the workedout space, will ensure effective excavation of thick steep seams.
