Development of Merapi Garden Tourismas Alternative Tourism in Pangukrejo Village, Umbulharjo, Indonesia

Abstract. Merapi Garden is a tourist attraction that was built independently by the community of residents of Dusun Pangukrejo, Umbulharjo Village, Kapanewon Cangkringan, Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Merapi Garden was built in 2018-2019. Segments of this tourist attraction are families and children. The challenges and problems of Merapi Garden are that it does not really get the attention of tourists, while in the same area and at the same location, it is crowded with tourists. Merapi Garden is in the same area as the Volcano Tour. The solution we offer is to build a tourism promotion to attract tourists to Merapi Garden. Promotion was done with an online or digital promotion approach. Train the community to be able to make tourism promotions through a digital approach.
