Abstract

Background The object of the research is the method of horizontal directional drilling during the construction of a submerged crossing. Aims and Objectives The study aim is to develop measures to reduce pulling forces at the stage of pipeline pulling during the construction of submerged crossings using the horizontal directional drilling method. Results In the course of the study, the current state of the issue on the problems of pulling forces when pipeline pulling during the construction of submerged crossings by the method of horizontal directional drilling was studied. Based on the results of the study of scientific and technical information, an experimental laboratory model was developed to simulate the process of pipeline pulling into the well of the submerged crossing. Experiments on pipeline pulling were carried out on the developed laboratory setup. The pipeline pulling loads in a laboratory installation are analyzed. Measures have been developed to reduce pulling forces when pipeline pulling into a horizontal directional well.
