Abstract

Magnetization of UNi 1− x Ru x Al solid solutions was measured at 4.2 K on isotropic powder samples in pulsed magnetic fields up to 26 T. Antiferromagnetism of UNiAl is suppressed completely for x=0.15 as inferred from the loss of metamagnetic transition on the high-field magnetization curve. The compounds with 0.15< x<0.95 have a spontaneous magnetic moment. Curie temperature and the spontaneous magnetic moment reach the maximum value of 80 K and 0.8 μ B/f.u., respectively, for x=0.6.
