Abstract
The timing of the major morphological changes which occur during metamorphosis of Lucilia cuprina has been observed. Larval-pupal apolysis takes place within 4 hr of the permanent immobilization of the larva. Pupaladult apolysis is completed within 16 hr, and ecdysis occurs approximately 6 1 2 days after puparium formation. Morphological changes are correlated with biochemical changes which occur during this period.
