Abstract

The research on the life cycle cost of existing urban rail transit equipment is mostly from the perspective of the life cycle of the equipment, which is not considered the life cycle of the urban rail transit system. The periodicity of the life cycle cost of urban rail transit equipment is proposed, then this paper present a new calculation model for the urban rail transit equipment base on the periodicity and discount rate. Then the life cycle cost model is applied to 6B metro train in Beijing subway in order to identify the highest cost of the train. The results show that purchase cost is the highest cost in the life cycle cost for the urban rail vhichle. from high to low, are purchase cost, labor cost, maintenance cost, energy cost and residual value. In order to reduce costs, operators could carry out controls in accordance with the above order. The results show that the model proposed in this paper can provide a new perspective to evaluate the whole life cycle cost of urban rail equipment, so as to formulate cost control strategies.
