Abstract

personal relationship between student and instructor is vital and should be disturbed as little as possible. Instructors are asked to proceed on the assumption that if a freshman can learn the material, so can they. 6. Since fifty percent of our students drop out of college before their junior year it is important that they be given a systematic approach to the study of society. I have many evidences that this course has more carry-over value into actual life situations than any I have ever taught. 7. This approach takes full advantage of the analytical and comparative methods and thereby leads a student toward objectivity. He does not have to take his knowledge on authority but can figure out much for himself.
