Abstract

In this study, we develop an information system to evaluate work and predict countermeasures for resolving problems to continuously promote the work process and design in parts assembly work. The information system is constructed using a subsystem including image processing to detect the locations of the tips and joints of the fingers of a worker’s hands and the locations of parts. To predict the problems and generate countermeasures to resolve the challenges, three types of data structures are constructed and they are connected related to works, evaluation values, the causes of the problems, and the countermeasures for problems in the works. We explain the characteristics of the developed system and perform the system in the actual assembly process to evaluate the system’s effectiveness.
