Abstract
International standard, ISO 10302-1 for measuring the airborne noise of individual fans (air-moving devices) for cooling information technology and telecommunications equipment, is being revised. While the existing test specification limits the maximum back pressure applied to the fan under noise measurement to 750 Pa, this revision attempts to cover up to 3000 Pa depending on the size of the test plenum. This paper describes the background to the specification changes and various technical studies.
