Abstract

The LEKKO VIII eight-beam 10kJ CO2laser system, has been completed. One of the new developments of this system is the full CPU-aided control system with optical fiber links. The master controller and CPU in a electrical shield room is connected to sub-controllers only by optical fibers to avoid the electrical noise inducedby the high-current and high-voltage discharge with a rapid rise-rate.The regular operation of the laser system can be performed with one man speedily. All the data on system operation such as the fire timing, the discharge current waveform and oscillation lines are collected, computed and stored in CPU memory. Steady and reliable operation of the system has been achieved.
