Abstract

Abstract The presented paper deals with the development of the control structure for switched systems in the frequency domain. Proposed control algorithm is based on the novel frequency-domain switched controller design procedure, which uses the small gain theory guaranteeing closed-loop stability of the multi-model plant in all operation modes and stable switching between individual modes. To create a synthesizable control algorithm, the Very High Speed Integrated Circuits Hardware Development Language (VHDL) is used as a programming tool. The practical hardware realization of the proposed control algorithm is illustrated by an experiment performed on the real MIMO laboratory plant. Experimental results demonstrate the easy applicability and high efficiency of the proposed control algorithm in hardware implementation.
