Abstract

This paper presents DVB-T2 fixed and mobile hybrid 3DTV system design and implementation for DVB-T2 terrestrial 3DTV broadcasting services. The proposed system transmits AVC encoded base view video through HD main channel (DVB-T2 Base, 256-QAM) and AVC encoded additional view video through mobile/handheld service channel (More robust channel, for example T2-Lite or NGH, QPSK or 16-QAM) simultaneously, Basically the proposed system could support stereoscopic 3D HD services by mixed quality base/additional view images for 3D image rendering with disparity compensation post image processing technology. In this paper, we propose DVB-T2 & T2-Lite/NGH hybrid 3DTV system which is support stereoscopic HD quality 3D service system which is allowed maximum channel bandwidth efficiencies & extended service functionalities as well as fully backward compatible with current DVB-T2/T2-Lite and NGH standard.
